Lorraine Vail’s artistic foundation was laid early, beginning as an apprentice at age fifteen before earning a full scholarship to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her formal training in drawing and painting, coupled with her natural sculptural talents, launched a distinguished career marked by public commissions and international recognition.

Vail’s masterful bronze works have found homes in prestigious collections worldwide, from the Vatican Library in Rome to distinguished American institutions including the Blackhawk Automotive Museum and the Berman Museum. Her public sculptures have earned particular acclaim, with several pieces featured on the National Museum of Women in the Arts tour in Washington, D.C., while her fountains and sculptural installations grace distinguished hotels across the globe.
