When I started my Collector series, I had two things in mind. One group of Collectors found everyday objects that they thought were exceptionally beautiful. I hoped to have the viewer see those things in a new way. The second thing I tried to accomplish with other collectors was collecting our childhood fantasies so they would not be lost to us.
The Rose Collector is an example of a collector of something beautiful. And the Dragon Collector is a collector of fantasies.
So far I have done 10. Who knows when I will stop…there is a lot of beauty and fantasy out there. At the moment I am working on number 11, the Wine Collector.
